- Members of "Teen Challenge" share stories of freedom from addiction

- Admission: FREE

 

12th annual Dog Walk/Run Fundraiser

 

- In support of the Slave Lake Animal Rescue Society

- Sunday May 28th (Registration: 10:30am, Event: 11am)

- Registration is $5 per person and $5 per dog

(Children under 5 are FREE)

- Starts and ends at the new Animal Shelter (901-7th St. NE) (next to Slave Lake Airport)

- Pledge Forms at various businesses around town, or on-line at www.arcofsl.com

22nd annual Songbird Festival

 

- This weekend (May 27th & 28th)

- Boreal Center for Bird Conservation in Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park

- Saturday features an Early-Bird Pancake Breakfast, Guided Bird Hikes, Observatory Tours, Children's Activities and Nature Workshops

- Sunday features the 13th annual Bird Run/Walk along the Trans Canada Trail

- Fees and charges are applicable during the Festival

Tim Hortons Camp Day

 

- Wednesday May 31st

- Selling Bracelets ($2 each) (4 Colours)

- Proceeds from Coffee and Bracelet sales support Tim Horton's Children's Foundation in sending kids to camp this summer.

- Camp in Alberta is Tim Horton's Children's Ranch in Kananaskis

- Pruski and Hopper will be at Tim's in Slave Lake during the event

 

Poker Rally

 

- 3rd annual Arthur Willier Memorial Poker Run

- Presented by Northern Gateway Motorcycle Association

- Saturday June 3rd

- Registration at 9am at Slave Lake Legion

- Proceeds to Heart and Stroke Foundation

- Cost: $20 per person

- Radio Interviews will be happening right up until event
