MRC Damage worse than town thought
They are going to try and get through this week, and go from there.
The extensive damage that was caused to the wiring in the transformer outside the Multi-Rec Center, is listed as worse than the town thought.
However, the ice surfaces have not been damaged, as they are being kept up in anticipation of the Provincial hockey championships this weekend.
Slave Lake CAO Brian Vance says that the main wire from the transformer to the MRC shorted out, and will take longer to repair.
Schedule changes have been made and town officials are asking patrons to check in on the town's website for changes made to schedules.
Town officials are saying that once the Hockey Tournament is done, the ice is immediately coming out.
