Grass Burning in Slave Lake area
The Slave Lake area is preparing for wildfire season.
The Lesser Slave Lake fire crews have begun burning the excess dry grass in the area.
Wildfire Information Officer Leah Lovequist says it removes the dangerous dry grass from flare-up.
Crews will be burning that dry grass over the next few weeks in the Lesser Slave Lake area.
In the meantime, permits are needed for burning, as fire season started at the beginning of March.
